Tree Service in Cary, NC

Cary is our most frequent stop outside Apex, and it is a pruning town as much as a removal town. The neighborhoods are older, the canopy is bigger, and most calls are about limbs over the roof and deadwood in mature hardwoods.

It is also the town where HOA rules matter most. Many Cary communities require approval before a tree comes out, and a fair number have tree-save areas along the back of the lot. We would rather tell you that at the estimate than after the tree is on the ground.

The trees in Cary

Lochmere and MacGregor Downs carry heavy mature willow oak and water oak — beautiful canopy, and the trees most likely to shed a big limb into a fence. Preston mixes tall pine with hardwood. Amberly and the newer western Cary builds are pine and red maple planted tight to the house, which is where we do the most clearance pruning.

Water oaks are the recurring hazard in Cary's older neighborhoods. They grow fast, hollow early, and often look full and healthy while the trunk is already compromised — a soft spot at the base or a fungal bracket is worth a look.

Deep lots backing onto greenways mean tight or no equipment access, so a lot of Cary work is done on ropes with debris carried out to the street. Worth knowing when you compare quotes.

Permits and HOA rules in Cary

The Town of Cary regulates trees in the public right-of-way and in protected greenway and buffer areas, and many Cary HOAs require written architectural approval before removal. Practically: if the tree is between the sidewalk and the street, or in a marked buffer at the rear of your lot, check with the Town of Cary first, and check your HOA covenants for anything else.
